(October 12, 1997) METALS: The metals took a hard hit this week with gold off $8 on one day alone. As a matter of fact, gold prices have dropped $13 from the high set on October 1, to the low set on Thursday, of this week.
Silver, on the other hand, has held up much better than gold. But here too, silver is struggling and the charts are getting ugly. The same can be said for platinum and palladium.
At this time, I see little to do in the metals. My bias is to buy breaks. But I will wait another week or so before deciding what to do. But again, my bias is to buy breaks.
