(October 5, 1997) METALS: The past two weeks have been explosive for metal prices with gold jumping $19 an ounce from mid-September to one day this week. But during the same time period, silver jumped 75 cents an ounce. The past two weeks have been the best two weeks on the upside for gold and silver in over a year.

All my work suggests that metal prices are headed higher, Over the near term, however, since this is October, gold and silver may have “done their thing” for now. On another hard break I will again turn bullish. Hard breaks are easy to come by in October.
