(October 3, 1997) CATTLE: Packers bides are holding at 65.00 while feedlots want 67.00. Boxed beef was slightly better at noon. Enough cattle have moved this week to allow both sides to hang tough on their price. Futures fell in the feeders late in the session due to the drive in corn futures. Talk out of South Korea is still cloudy but leaning towards no ban on Nebraska beef. Some friendly news out of the cash market is needed to change the psychology in the futures. Technically we are very oversold and a bounce is needed. Oversold for 4 out of 5 days does no one any good. Think Positive!
