(October 1, 1997) CORN: Impending harvest pressure has driven December corn 20 cents off its late August highs, with the August 11 upside gap (253½-256½) now within its sights.

Although the corn harvest is in its incipient stage, December corn has been feeling the pressure from the bean harvest which is well under way. The 240-250 area should hold the market during this harvest season. “Short” has been the ticket but its a tough trade with harvest lows imminent and big demand/El Nino right around the corner!
