COMMODITY INSIGHT

(September 22, 1997) METALS: Like a moth to a flame, I wish to be a buyer of copper once again. The last time I suggested buying copper I got burned. Adding insult to injury, after being stopped out with a loss, copper prices quickly rose to where I originally went long. What a deal!
Nevertheless, buy (1) December copper at 94.50 with a 90.00 stop, close only.
My work suggests that precious metals are going to flounder over the near-term while copper prices improve. From current levels, copper prices could easily rise to the 104.00 level before running into trouble.
