Monika Riley, after 30 years as a trader and broker, knows that trading is more of an art than a science. As the artist has numerous tools to complete a project, a successful trader must also learn to use all the tools necessary to determine and execute the most profitable trade.
Monika's commercial focus taught her the value of trading spreads. In today's high tech world, spread trading has become a lost art to all but the most successful floor traders and commercials. Monika believes today's demand markets are ideal spread markets and aims to bring this vehicle into focus for today's trader.
Monika was born in Hannover, Germany and immigrated with her family to a western suburb of Chicago at a young age. She is series 3, 7, and 63 registered. She began her professional career with the McDonald Corporation and her next career move brought her to Merrill Lynch's commodities as a sales assistant to Merrill's top commercial hedge brokers. In 1978, Monika became a broker and developed her own commercial and retail clientele.
Monika's foremost interest has always been in the agricultural markets and focused her career in that direction. She believes that understanding every aspect of the futures industry has honed her skills as a trader and broker.
