(October 31, 1997) METALS: GOLD–We're short as reports surface that the Swiss finance ministry was urging restraint in the country's gold sales. Gold bulls are wary of central bank sales since the Reserve Bank of Australia announced this past July that it had sold substantial amounts of its reserves, depressing prices even further.
