(March 20, 2002) WHEAT: News that Egypt bought 300,000 tonnes of wheat from the U.S. was supportive as are worries that a cold spell in the Plains could damage the wheat crop. However, recent rains were beneficial to the crop, and most importantly, the chart is a mess. Wheat has failed at the highs; it has failed at the lows. Considering the choppy nature of the market, traders will probably be happiest staying short term and nimble.
