(March 8, 2002) SOYBEANS: My favorite of the group continues to be soybeans as my readers are well aware. May beans gained 6c per bushel to close at $4.65 ½ after hitting an intra-day high of $4.68. Rumors of problems with Argentina's possible inability to honor VAT payments circulated and offset the bearish USDA report of an increase in the Brazilian soybean crop. Additionally, technicians bought beans on the breakout through resistance levels and we are maintaining our bullish stance on beans.
