800-443-2360(March 5, 2002) CORN: The best thing corn has going for it is the fact that it is used in more products than any other commodity going. There are always rumors that our government is once again going to rejuvenate the ethanol program which could lead to 10% of fuel being ethanol. Those are both long-term factors however and it would still take some sort of weather problem this spring to overcome the 1.5 billion or so bushel carryover hanging over the market. Meantime, look for an even tighter range here with May pushing to a $2.16 top end price and $2.00 low end.
