(March 28, 2002) STOCK INDICES: JUNE S&P 500 STOCK INDEX--The end of the first quarter finds the market rather lackluster, as investor interest remains tepid at best. Volume measures on both the NYSE and NASDAQ are still in bearish configurations, reflecting areal lack of confidence by investors, as well as huge uncertainty over the future direction of the market and the economy. The charts continue to show a sideways trend with a narrow, negatively sloping channel enhancing the odds for seeing more pressure. A close under the March low will set sights back to 1100.
