(March 8, 2002) SUGAR: May sugar gained 12 points to close at 618c per pound in front of China's announcement of import quotes and recipients due next week. The current uptrends in softs may continue but we prefer the "safety" of the sidelines while other markets present what we feel are better opportunities for our clients.
